Nick Hutchings - Director
With over 15 years of coaching experience Nick is a UEFA B Qualified Coach who has held coaching roles at Portsmouth FC, Wimborne Town FC, Pro:Direct Academy and Between The Sticks before starting LYD Sports in 2016.
Pictured here playing for Dorchester Town FC in 2019, Nick has also played for Poole Town, Wimborne Town, Hamworthy United and Gosport Borough.
Nick is a Manchester United fan and his favourite goalkeeper is David De Gea. Nick’s advice for young GK’s is, “Work hard and always believe in yourself”.
Steve Dodge - Senior Coach
Steve started goalkeeper coaching in 2010 at Portland United FC and has been the First Team Goalkeeper Coach at Dorchester Town FC since 2012.
A retired detective for the Dorset Police, Steve was their goalkeeper for 15 years, also representing Weymouth FC and Dorchester Town FC.
A Manchester United fan, Steve’s favourite GK is Peter Schmeichel and his advice to young GK’s is, “the role is not just about shot stopping, you must develop other parts of the game including, distribution, communication, and decision making”.
Harrison Bruton - Coach
An FA Level 1 coach Harrison (pictured above coaching on our GK Course in 2020) has coaching experience with Between The Sticks and Champion.
Harrison progressed through the youth teams at Weymouth to be part of the First Team Squad and is currently out on loan at Bridport FC. He has also played for Merley Cobham as a 16 year old.
A Chelsea fan, Harrison’s favourite GK is Petr Cech and about progressing as a GK Harrison says, “Pressure makes diamonds”.
Lucas Barringer - Coach
An FA Level 1 coach, Lucas began coaching with LYD in 2020 having completed a work experience placement with us in 2019.
Lucas has represented Hamworthy United at U-23 and U-18 this season having previously been at AFC Bournemouth Academy and Dorset RTC.
An AFC Bournemouth supporter Lucas’s favourite GK’s are, Gianluigi Buffon, Manuel Neuer, Asmir Begovic and Aaron Ramsdale. His advice to young GK’s is, “Enjoy playing in goal and enjoy making saves. The best position in football is Goalkeeper”.
Bailey Middleton - Coach
Bailey, who started coaching with LYD in 2018 is an FA Level 1 Coach.
Having played for New Milton and Poole Town, Bailey is currently studying at Solent University.
An AFC Bournemouth supporter Bailey’s favourite GK is Manuel Neuer and his advice for young GK’s is, “Communication and being good with your feet are vital skills for a GK”.
